Easy to use, Great quality and Amazing Value – I didn’t buy this Gimbal to save money. I bought it specifically to use with the A7c and keep my video rig as light as possible. I film content creation so I am holding this thing for hours and hours. The SC is lighter than the pro models and one of the lightest gimbals that can load up to 4 lbs.

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH CANON R6! – DJI has listed in the specs that the Ronin SC is compatible with the Canon R6. After purchasing this gimbal I had issues with connecting it to my camera. I watched every YouTube video available to figure out what the issue was and found nothing useful. After finally speaking with DJI they informed me that they have not updated their Ronin firmware to match the firmware of the R6. The only advice they could give me was to fill out a form on their website requesting this firmware version. So basically until they release an update I’m stuck with a gimbal that cannot communicate with my camera, which is incredibly inconvenient when shooting video. I’m also past my return window and Amazon will not budge on letting me return this product. Before purchasing this gimbal, you not only need to make sure it’s compatible with your camera but you’ll have to make sure their firmware is up to date and matches your cameras firmware. I’d honestly avoid DJI and find another product. They’re an incompetent company and their customer support is terrible.

Excellent unit. – DJI is one of those companies that makes top notch products. The unit is of very high build quality and worked great with my Sony mirrorless camera.

Ronin SC Nikon Compatibility – I am a still photographer. None of this review is for video features. I got the Ronin SC to shoot astrophotography panaramas with my Nikon D500. Currently (9/4/2022) DJI says that the only Nikon DSLRs that are compatible are the D500, D780, & D810. Of course, the body/lens combination would have to be 4.4 pounds, or less. While I have not tried all of the features, the ones I’ve experimented with, so far, work without a connection (if you’re planning to trip the shutter without using the Ronin SC). If you’re not needing to connect the body to the Ronin SC for camera control, then any non-extended DSLR body should work. I haven’t tried it with my battery grip attached.
