Who knew it was this good? – The instructions state 7-10 ft I believe for height placement. We mounted ours much higher This camera has surprised me to be honest. It has clear video, great night vision, surprisingly great battery/solar life. We haven’t had to physically charge the camera since it went up. The app allows for “battery life” and we did notice like it said in cold weather the battery rate wasn’t really trusted. When it got cold it read 10-15 points lower but as soon as it warmed the battery life showed 100%. We liked it so much we have two. In order to save video you pay for cloud service. It’s an annual cost and the price is low. I think $50. My only complaint would be with multiple cameras comes multiple clouds. All that is easy to track and see and manage in the app. You can share the app to family members very easy and either allow them to modify or just view. If you’re looking for a wireless/solar/and not taking it down to charge it weekly camera then this is for you.

Review based on it’s intended use! – Being avid campers, we wanted a camera that would work in the woods. In order to really test this camera, we set up a hotspot in the woods and placed the camera in a good location to detect any traffic to the camper. After testing this camera for a week at camp, we then took the camera home to test it at our house.

DOES THE JOB FOR BASIC SECURITY – Basic security is given. Battery life is great depending on how you have camera set up. I have 1 of mine going to 2 months and still at 56% battery. The other is set to pick up all motion and it has been 2 months and battery is at 38%. Picture is clear during the day and at night it does have a few IR lights to enhance the view. This camera will allow you to see what happened if you go back thru the footage and the on time alerts work perfectly. There is no stall time at all. Once something is detected I get and alert on my phone within 3 seconds. Helpful for chicken coops, vehicle / driveway monitoring and other little things. Worth it for the money.
