You are going to get what you pay for – These things are cheap. My guess is, it is like razors and razor blades. They want to sell this thing cheap believing they can get you to purchase their service. And, they are as annoying as possible in trying to get you to buy the service, which is not cheap. A couple of months and you have paid for this thing. I works ok, if you just want to watch the camera. There may be a way to do it, but I can’t get mine to record an alert. I will give you an alert, but it only gives you one frame. If you want the alert recorded, you guessed it, you must buy their service. Basically, you ware going to get what you pay for with this one.

Images and voice good clarity – I like the camera images/recordings/Voice. It’s very slow/ sluggish to connect to phone and respond to commands. I installed this in my front porch light (out of weather’s harm). It was difficult to get it setup and couldn’t find any help on the internet. After finally getting it setup and screwed into light socket, the camera positioning was not centered. I had to unscrew it some out of the light socket so I could have full side to side and centered front view. Right after installing it, we had a wicked thunderstorm and lightning/rain plays havoc with the motion detector, thus amount of alerts were insane. There is a sensitivity range (L-M-H) but if set in low, then you’re changing sensitivity to what you’re trying to sense…visitors. Plus it kept turning itself to the rear so the view was the wall. I tried to get it to stay faced forward but every lightning strike it would turn right back to the rear. I finally had to shut the power off to it. To say the least, it’s being returned. Don’t believe all you read on Google.

Nice little camera for the price – I had purchased a different bulb style camera, but after trying for hours to get it connected, I gave up and tried this one. It immediately was recognized and worked right away! One thing that isn’t advertised, is that it comes with an alternate base which you can use to just wire it, vs. using a light socket. This came in handy, as I noticed it didn’t really work as a porch light, so I ended up attaching the alternate base on top of the porch light, and having it work that way. The nice thing is that it has a 180 setting, so it doesn’t need to just hang down, it can stand up also, and work just fine. I only bought one at first, as my experience with the other brand was so bad, but already ordered another one of these for the back porch now too. Nice thing is, very easy to give the cameras constant power from the house, so no need to run long wires like most outdoor cameras.

Doesn’t provide light?? – The camera is priced reasonably if all you are looking for is a camera and don’t need light in the area you install it at. I basically unscrewed my back patio light bulb and replaced it with this device but now I have no light on my back patio?? It also doesn’t provide motion sensor detection unless you have the camera pointed directly in the area you want to monitor. So if someone came up to the door from a side angle the camera wasn’t facing it would not detect them and feel that defeats the purpose. I’m going to get a Kasa camera instead so I can have light too.

Only took 6 reset of the camera for me figure it out. Seriously I like the product it’s only been up for four hours. I’ll update my review in a month from now. The price point was within my budget. The quality of the camera is what you pay for. It is clear enough for me to see. I recommend this for a beginner such as myself. Shipping was pretty fast and smooth. I fell safer knowing I can see who is knocking at my door before I decide to open it. This item did come with an SD card to record short (clips) videos. Very convenient you plug straight into the power of your existing porch light. It features a light on it that you can turn on or off or Auto mode. 7/10
