This is a cheap plastic version of the real metal housing Lorax camera – Housing is made out of thin plastic. Cameras direct from Lorax are all metal.

Good cameras – The camera has good quality video. The only thing that I will recommend is when installing it outside to get an external waterproof box to put the cables in. The waterproof wire barrel is not so water tight. Overall, the cameras are great. I bought another one.

casings are not aluminum – The units i bought from lorex have metal housings. these housing are plastic. i wound up using one high up and one in garage. i found using 1/8 toggle bolts is easiest way to mount to hardiboard soffets.
