Great picture, great control through app, tricky to hook up to Alexa – I bought this camera for our church which has some steep steps to the sanctuary. Some people attend church but cannot make it up the stairs so they want to watch from a TV in the library. We had an old ip camera that stopped working so I bought this as a replacement. The selling point was the integration with Alexa which would allow anyone to pick up the remote of the fire tv and say “show sanctuary camera”. This should have been easy except for one very important setting in the ReoLink app. To get this to work, install Alexa app on your phone and login, install ReoLink app on your phone and login, add camera using QR code to ReoLink app, install the ReoLink skill in Alexa app, and ask Alexa to discover devices. This procedure works in other cameras like Yi but for ReoLink you have to ALSO go into the app, on the cloud tab, then choose the bottom item for sharing and ENABLE sharing of the camera. Without this step Alexa will not find your camera. The picture is beautiful but has at least a 10 seconds delay when playing through fire tv. (Insert your own joke about the video delay from the movie Scream). Overall a great camera.

Excellent baby camera – The primary function I have for this camera is baby monitoring through Xeoma. I gotta say, especially for the price, this camera works well, at least once you have it dialed in. I started off with the slightly cheaper version, but found it wasn’t quite doing what I needed.

Great picture coupled with mediocre firmware = low value IP camera – I decided to take a chance on Reolink despite mixed reviews across their product line. I upgraded from a Foscam FI8921W v2 camera; a mere 1.3 MP camera. The E1 Zoom is a huge step up in video quality. However, I found the setup, to put it kindly, awkward. Its fairly simple, but I didn’t appreciate the loud distorted sqwaking voice that sounded like a broken NJ Transit speaker in the late evening. The provided documentation is rather sparse.
