is this the 1980’s? – I cannot believe this camera does not allow for wireless photo transfer. The only way to move photos from it to your phone or laptop, other than a $350 SD card, is through a USB cable.

Underexposed/poor battery performance – Most images are under exposed. All need to be brightened up and more constrast (even with saturation and constrast set to the highest level). Battery needs to be charged after every outing, and the charging takes quite a long time.

I would recommend it – Takes good call me photos. Is easy to use, good features.

Crisp Clear Picture in Normal Mode – The regular mode produced some of the crispest pictures I’ve taken, but the zoom was terrible – the pictures are blurry – especially those of the wildlife.

Display vs TTL – I like the camera. I do. When it’s bright outside, or if you want to check the clarity before shooting a scene, or people, I have to take off my glasses to look really close at the display, before taking the picture. I prefer a viewfinder with focus, over a screen.

MICROSCOPE MODE IS PHENOMINAL!! – I work on the pipeline and use this camera for photo documentation and it is one tough camera! great photos especially the microscope mode. It makes Macro photos of cracks and corrosion amazing! For the price, you literally cant find anything better!

Love the Ricoh rugged cameras – As a long term Pentax fan (I’ve lost count of how many I have owned) I love the color quality & durability. I started getting the WG series many years ago, and have steadily upgraded. I don’t upgrade because they wear out (I sell them or give them away) but because new features, better imaging, and more rugged construction is available on the newer models. This one goes deeper, can survive harder drops, and has better imaging than previous models. I keep one in my computer bag for grab shots when I see something interesting. Just to give an idea of the strength – I have never had the lens scratch despite being in a crowded bag, never had any mechanical issues, and taken some really nice underwater photos. A plus is Ricoh has kept the same battery model throughout the series – so my investment in spare batteries is good. If you need a great underwater (to 60 feet or so) and drop proof (6 feet or so) camera, this is the way to go.
