Exactly what I hoped for! – I bought this for my craft room. I’ve been using my husbands photography ring light on a tri-pod for a few years now, and it worked fine. However I needed more storage and wanted to add an IKEA Alex unit next to my work station, but with the tri-pod took up the space I needed for the Alex unit. I looked at other lights and actually did buy a replacement for the ring light, but the ring light was hands above the new light in performance. The only thing I liked about the new light was that it hooked to the desk directly and Fred up that space. So hubby suggested a desk attachment instead of a new light..
