Performance in chilly Pennsylvania – We live on a sem-urban street. Foot Traffic and Cars are all beyond 40 feet or so. Installed in late Autumn with temperatures in the low 30’s. Adjusted sensitivity and is just fine and everything you need in a security camera. However, like most batteries in the cold, they drain faster than in a warmer climate. Overnight this battery, even with the camera settings at minimum the battery needed charging. If you see the photos I had to improvise with some sort of thermal protection. Underneath the winter sock is 1/2 inch of black rubber foam insulation just wide enough to wrap around the sides and top. On the back, I cut pieces of the material and double sides taped it in. All critical parts of the camera are exposed for operation. Now the camera can go into the third day under these conditions until boosting the charge that is remaining. Need to bring it into the house to charge. Also did not mount the plastic base into the brick so I have a piece of board I cut round and then screwed the camera base into that after mounting the board onto the brick. So as another customer pointed out and at the Amazon site, there is no mention of operating in the cold and one actually said the battery lasted 6 months. Maybe in the Tropics.

Instructions need improvement – I like that it comes with a solar panel to keep battery topped off. After 2 days of use battery is still at 100%. You need to charge the battery from a charger initially, don’t try to use the solar panel for the initial charge, it doesn’t have enough power to fully charge the battery. I want to see when someone is coming into my driveway, approx. 75′ from camera location, had to set motion detection to max. to get it to work reliably. I don’t need the audio feature as I have another camera at the front entrance that I use for that so don’t know how well this works on this camera. Use infra-red for night vision it’s adequate as there is a street light near the end of my driveway. The instructions are a bit confusing. During installation step 5 you are supposed to scan a QR code to connect to your WiFi. It skipped over that step but indicated that the connection was successful. Thought I had done something wrong so I reinstalled the camera. Same results. Anyway, it’s working. Had to play with it a while to get everything up and running. Still having a bit of a problem navigating around the menu as it’s not very intuitive but I’ll get it eventually. Overall a nice camera but takes a bit of patience to figure everything out. Lots of trial and error

Amazing night vision monitor cam at affordable price! – I bought the Webcam for my chicken coop after I saw the footprints of raccoons or fox on the automatic door even though I already trapped 12 raccoons this year and relocated them far away from my house. I worry the Wi-Fi may not work that far since the chicken coop is about 60 feet away from my house and another brand webcam can not be installed there. I was surprised that the Wi-Fi showed 3/5 bars that far for this cam. The first night after installation, it detected a big fat raccoon lurking at the chicken coop door and alerted me. I shouted at the raccoon over the speaker and also used the siren to scare him off without getting out of bed. I can see it clearly under night vision. The second morning, when my chickens came out after the automatic door opened, it detected “pet wandering around” and labeled the chicken in red box. I noticed it also detected me as a “person” when I went near the coop. Amazing AI software for such a low priced unit! I then noticed there are other AI functions that could be very useful, for example, if installed near front door, it can tell if a package is being dropped off, or best feature, if a package is being picked up (or stolen)! Honestly, I just bought another big brand wecam for my front door at much higher price. Maybe I should return that one and buy another GMK for my front door! I had a lot of activities near my chicken coop but the battery still last a few weeks at one full charge. It would have been longer because I forgot to turn the phone app off so the phone was using the cam with live view for a few hours before I noticed. The recharge is also a breeze because it is so easy to take it off and take home or bring a USB portable battery to the chicken coop. I now simply turn off the motion detection off on my phone app during daytime, when there is no threat of predators. Amazing webcam at affordable price!

Accurate Product – I really enjoy these cameras. I purchased two of them for my townhome and I must say that the battery for these has been superb thus far. I live in Indy and we recently experienced some severely cold temps (below freezing down to -4) and the outdoor camera hasnt failed yet and the battery has been consistent on the same charge. Ive had the cameras for two weeks now and the battery for the outdoor one if literally just now at 97%. Keep in mind that I have the camera facing at an angle where it doesn’t pick up so much traffic because it does tend to get congested where I live thus picking up a lot of movement. I want to also mention that I took a plastic zip lock baggy and tapped it around the perimeter of the camera only leaving the charging port exposed to also help it hold up in the cold weather and it has done well behind this also. Overall, I’d say that this camera is decent for the price and seems to be durable enough to hold up in these harsh temps. So I must say I do recommend this product as it seems to be legit so far.
