Not the worst, not the best – Straight out of the box there were issues. The metal socket base was only slightly compression fit to the plastic housing, and came off while holding the camera in my hand. One of the power leads is soldered to the center of that socket while the other power lead is simply wedged between the metal threads and the plastic housing so if you aren’t careful you can completely rip the leads off. The plastic housing is completely smooth so there is nothing for the threaded metal base to grab onto. I ended up having to superglue the two pieces together, but it’s not ideal.

I won’t buy this again – I purchased two of these a few weeks back. One of them already does not work. That one I had placed on my front porch near my front door. I could walk up my steps and it wouldn’t move. I had to literally put my hands right in front of it to get it to even light up. It just did not work.

A great idea that I’ve waited yrs for. – The main issue with this item is the lack of easily understood instructions in English. The brief instructions seem translated using an App which is incredible, but typically aren’t clear. This little lightbulb camera is so easy to install especially if you have a dedicated light fixture already inplace. I purchased a short extension with mine so I could easily install it in a wall fixture & positioned below frosted plastic sides. The night vision is amazingly clear just using the infra-red option. As explained it has excellent clarity out to 35ft, but I can see much further out. I was surprised while setting up the different options for camera to respond to, when a bug flew passed right next to lens & the camera quickly followed it around for @ 60°. I didn’t think it could move that quickly and don’t expect that to happen on a normal basis. The sensitive settings need an update that will allow less sensitivity. I’m happy with this camera & look forward to the improvements to the manual. At this price I will be looking to purchase more.

Great For Inexpensive Video Security – I have installed it on our front porch light which faces the street. I am still trying to figure out the best way to set it up so that it works best for our needs. It has been too sensitive to recording cars on the street or a moth flying by the lens etc. It is somewhat exposed to the elements because any light fixture outside has a frame which will block the camera view near that frame. I have not found a clear glass fixture to use yet. The sound detection can be too sensitive as well, so we don’t use it at this point. Right now it is a little bit of a novelty since we are in a pretty safe area anyway.

It has been too sensitive to recording cars on the street or a moth flying by the lens etc. It is somewhat exposed to the elements because any light fixture outside has a frame which will block the camera view near that frame. I have not found a clear glass fixture to use yet. The sound detection can be too sensitive as well, so we don’t use it at this point. Right now it is a little bit of a novelty since we are in a pretty safe area anyway.
