Worth of the money. – There’s room enough for two guns. Perfect for going to the range.

Worked for its purpose – I bought this item in order to bring my firearm through TSA. I attached two padlocks and had no issue. The foam material inside was easy to cut with a sharp pocket knife. It fit my firearm, two magazines, and a box of ammunition (roughly 100 rounds) with lots of unused space. Went through TSA with no issues.

Very Durable & Well Designed Pelican Case for Handguns – Many folks dislike the fact that you have to do your own custom cutouts in the foam for the items you place inside. The fact that it is layered allows you to only cut through the upper layer if your item isn’t that deep & have a smooth top & bottom on each side of your items. For Firearms & Magazines just experiment & print out life size photo of them to make life size cutouts to be used as stencils. Then use white or yellow spray paint after you’ve made your final layout with the stencils on the removed layer of foam that requires the cutouts. Once the paint is dry use a fresh / sharp razor blade to cut out the spray painted areas. You now have a professional looking custom cutout firearm travel case you can be proud of. That’s how we did custom cutout tool boxes in the Air Force before we out sourced that project.

Very nice strong case – I looked at many pistal cases for a 1911 full size, very happy I made this choice, I had thought this case sounded a bit bigger then I wanted, but it is perfect size , I had looked Also at the normal pelican protector cases but felt like the 1170 and 1200 where not wide enough and a bit thick, floor to top . Also the latch system they put on these Vault cases are Great ! I like the solid foam better also,there are 3 layers on bottom 1 on top. not a fan of the pick out cubes. This case is built like a tank, Yet not heavy. Fantastic case . Pelican does not build cheep junk, I’m a welder and like things made strong, if You want stronger then this You will need to get some 1/4 steel.

Very solid, foam is a beast – Solid case, however stuffing it full of pew pew and bang bang puts a lot of stress on the box b/c of the foam. I had to cut the foam to fit everything, and now it’s good to go. Would recommend that pelican put pluckable foam in here.
